After years of teaching at both the High School and Elementary level, I have gained great insight as to some of the best teaching methods for various topics. I have had the opportunity to teach, coach, and tutor various different topics making me a very valuable tutor. I received an undergraduate degree in Portuguese and a minor in music. I received a graduate degree in education emphasizing in math education. I currently teach high school math and music at a local high school here in Phoenix. Although I do currently teach High School students, I do have experience working with younger children and have proven success in the past with them as well. While teaching, I am also a coach for both football and soccer. I have had the opportunity to coach students from elementary level through the varsity level in high school. While I am currently a Varsity head coach, I am still gaining experience as to different methods to motivate students and learners. I believe that everyone can learn and should learn. I specialize in finding methods that are unique and effective for each individual student for whatever the topic may be. While everyone can learn, not everyone learns the same way. That is why I look for the best method to help motivate and allow the learner be as successful as possible.

I received a Music Minor in college. I took over 25 credits of music courses from an accredited university. I have been playing piano for 19 years. I currently play the piano and organ in my church. I have also taught piano to different age levels for 5 years.

Sight Singing

As part of my music minor in college, I had to take one class per semester just on sight reading alone. As part of the curriculum I teach to high school students everyday I incorporate sight reading into their daily learning.

Songwriting

In college, I took a course specifically designed for writing music. I have studied multiple books and written a number of songs. I am very familiar with chord progressions as well as the necessary components of writing lyrics.

Trumpet

I have been playing the trumpet for going on 18 years.
