All of Frank’s current tutoring subjects are listed at the left. You can read more about Frank’s qualifications in specific subjects below.

ACT Math

ACT math consists of Pre- Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry. Since all of these math classes are classes that I have done extremely well in, it should follow that I can teach students these concepts. Like many of the high school math classes, it is fundamental to my knowledge and I have several ways to get to the same answer. If one way does not work for you, I can always show another way to get the same answer. Also, as I recall, I did very well on this exam, and I bet you will too if I am your tutor.

Algebra 1

I am qualified to tutor Algebra 1 because it is the foundation of math. I am extremely knowledgeable in math and that would not be possible without impeccable algebra. I have tutored many many people with algebra and I guarantee that I can provide a way that will be understandable to the student.

Algebra 2

I am qualified to tutor Algebra 2 because it, like Algebra 1, is the foundation of math. I am extremely knowledgeable in math and that would not be possible without impeccable algebra. I have tutored many many people with algebra of all levels and I guarantee that I can provide a way that will be understandable to the student.

ASVAB

I am eligible to tutor the ASVAB in ONLY math. Although I can help with the other portions quite well, my strength is math. I have helped people with the math portion of the ASVAB before so I know what to expect. Most of the questions range from algebra 1 to Pre calculus. These are subjects that I am extremely comfortable in.

Basketball

I would love to help anyone learn how to improve their basketball skills. I played in high school as well as Intramural at Arizona State University. I have a tremendous passion for basketball and love the game!

Calculus

I am qualified to tutor Calculus because I have took it in high school as well as I took it at ASU. I have tutored many people in Calculus while helping students at the student success center at ASU. I can tutor Calculus 1, 2, and 3. I guarantee that if I am your Calculus tutor, you will understand Calculus deeply and succeed.

Chess

I am qualified to teach chess because I have a rating of 1710 and am a solid class B player. I could not teach one how to become a grandmaster, but I could teach a beginner how to advance their play and become an advanced one. I can demonstrate common tactics, strategies and openings.

Differential Equations

I am qualified to tutor differential equations because I took it at ASU West with Dr. Erika Camacho and received an A. Also, at the student success center at ASU, I tutored several students and they were successful.

Elementary Math

I am more than qualified to tutor and teach elementary math because it is the core of all mathematics. Math at the elementary level can be explained in a variety of ways. I will be sure to convey a way that best suits the understanding of your child. I have helped some college students with this level of math. Although the questions may slightly vary, I know what to expect and how to answer them.

Geometry

I am qualified to tutor Geometry because I took Advanced Geometry in high school. Since then, Geometry has shown itself in some of the higher math classes. Since Geometry is a fundamental math, it is a must know for a math major like me.

Linear Algebra

I am qualified to tutor Linear Algebra because I took it at ASU West with Dr. Haiyan Wang and received a B. Also, at the student success center at ASU, I tutored several students and they were successful. Although my grade was a B, it was a high B. The amount of material that I know reflects that of an A level.

Logic

I am qualified to tutor logic because I have taken 2 college level logic courses and I have done very well in both of them. Logic is very natural to me and I can teach it in a way that is strongly intuitive.

Philosophy

I am qualified to teach philosophy because it is one of my two majors in college. Currently, I am a double major in Applied Math and Philosophy. I have taken several philosophy classes at ASU and I have a Philosophy GPA of 4.08. I am more than qualified to tutor in the following subjects:
PHI 101- Intro to Philosophy
PHI 103- Principles of Sound Reasoning
PHI 306- Applied Ethics
PHI 318- Philosophy of Religion
PHI 333- Symbolic Logic
PHI 334- Philosophy of Mind
PHI 340- Biomedical Ethics
PHI 406- Moral Dilemmas

Prealgebra

I am qualified to tutor Pre-Algebra because it is fundamental to knowing all of mathematics. Like Algebra 1 and 2, it is pivotal to know the basics in order to succeed in math. I have tutored several people in the student success center at ASU West and many have told me that I explain Algebra well to them.

Precalculus

I am qualified to tutor Pre-Calculus because it is a prelude to one of the biggest subjects in all of mathematics: Calculus. I took this class in high school and I received a grade of over 100%. This is the foundation of Calculus. Since I have taken all 3 Calculus classes, Pre Calculus is a subject that I am more than comfortable with and I am sure you will learn a lot.

Proofreading

Being a double major in mathematics and philosophy, I have written a lot of papers. Given this, I have the experience of understanding sentence structure and how to properly formulate one's ideas. I would be more than happy to proofread a paper and help promote this intelligent style of writing.

SAT Math

SAT math is something that is a compilation of several of the key concepts in mathematics. Everything on the math portion of the SAT is fundamental to math and that means that I can tutor it extremely well. I have helped many people with this type of test preparation and I am sure that if I am your tutor, you will succeed.

Sign Language

I am qualified to tutor sign language because I took 2 years of it in high school, and it is currently my foreign language for my degree at ASU. Also, in the summer of 2013, I am taking 2 sign language classes. (It is still fresh in my mind.) By the fall, I will have taken 4 signing classes and will have a wealth of experience. Nevertheless, I have an abundance of experience now.

Table Tennis

I have a lot of table tennis experience in my life. I often play against a man who was nationally ranked. Also, I have beaten him quite a few times. Thus, I am more than qualified to improve one's table tennis game. I am not an expert but I can certainly help get any level player better!

Tennis

I am qualified to teach tennis because I have played for several years. In high school, I participated in the state tournament and did quite well. I am an avid tennis fan and I have taught people before!

Trigonometry

I am qualified to tutor Trigonometry because it relates to common things in life. Being a tutor at the ASU success center, I have created diagrams that best illustrate the point of Trigonometry and that make learning it a walk in the park.

Approved Subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet certified in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
