I am a trained lawyer with a strong leaning toward anthropology and history (See my work Customary law and slavery in West Africa (Trafford 2011).
I started teaching the fundamentals of law at age 23 in Senegal after certification by Senegalese authorities..
Did private tutoring in Boulogne-Billancourt and Paris 16e (France. My job was to help elementary school's students, after classes, complete their assignments in all subjects.
Taught French (1988) to Bell's employees.

I taught the basics of law again, history and economics at the French School of Raleigh(NC)to students preparing for the baccalaureat degree (2001-2003).

I worked as reader for Measurement Inc in Durham, NC (1999-2003. This job consists of evaluating and grading student's tests across the USA on various subjects (reading, science).
My approach is to evaluate students' needs, put myself in their shoes, get them interested and then use their own strengths or "assets' to help them reach Excellence.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Anthropology

I am an author who researched and used anthropological materials extensively to write my recent book. So, I understand theories and issues of this discipline quite well. My work is now on the shelves of major US universities.

Elementary (K-6th)

I tutored elementary in France, followed my son from second grade in North Carolina to middle school and beyond. Among student's papers that I used while working for Measurement Inc, there were many that were from elementary students.

French

All my formal education has been done in French from the day I started school to the university. I have served as tutor to three French students in Paris and its suburb of Boulogne-Billancourt and more recently taught Economics, History and the fundamentals of Law to high school's children of French expatriates, preparing for the baccalaureate in Raleigh, NC.

Proofreading

I worked for an educational company for three years, proofreading and grading students' papers.

Social Studies

The basics of law that I taught in Senegal and Raleigh are comparable to US Social Studies course. I know this because I followed my son's education from his very first grade to his last in high school and was able to compare.

Tax Preparation

In order to work for Jackson Hewitt in 1999-2000 (I believe), I had to attend classes, then took the test, was successful and got licensed by the IRS as a tax preparer.

TOEFL

A French educated lawyer who migrated to America, I am also an author of a book that I wrote in English and I am currently working on articles to be published in both English and French on my blog at Wordpress.
