Math is, and has always been, my favorite subject, with English a close second. My passion for numbers goes back to my childhood. When I was a boy, riding to school in the backseat while my mom drove, I would read the numbers on the license plates of the cars passing by. If the sum of the digits was divisible by 3, it was a “good car.” That was a clear indication long ago that working with numbers would be my calling. From getting a degree in engineering to working as an accountant today, the thread that has woven my professional story has been math.

Bad grammar and spelling shine like neon lights to me, as I take great pride in my command of the English language and my ability to communicate using the written word. I have written business plans for my own businesses and have been contracted to do the same for others. I was trained very well in grade school and high school, which is why grammar and phonics, specifically, come so naturally to me.

My passion and dedication to academic excellence drove me as a student, and drives me as a professional today. Always wanting to be the best kept me up late at night, knowing that my hard work would pay off in a scholarship to the school of my choice. I graduated Valedictorian from my college prep high school, and got accepted into every school to which I applied (MIT, Princeton, Notre Dame, and Tulane, where I eventually attended), which still stands as one of my proudest moments.

Without a strong academic foundation, people have limited options. Furthermore, if children do not value education, or feel that being “smart” is either "not cool" or that it is out of their reach, then the energy and effort that they put toward mastering their craft will be significantly diminished. As such, my dedication to providing children and young adults with the best opportunity to maximize their potential will drive me to being the best tutor I can be.
