AVID trained/Enthusiastic/Secondary Studies Teacher

As a certified teacher, with extensive teaching and tutoring experience. I use a variety of methods to make tutoring interesting and successful. Material needs to be relevant and apply to the student's real world life. I have experience tutoring as both a Title One tutor in the school district where I worked, and as a private tutor. I teach middle school Social Studies, and advanced Social Studies, in a highly performing middle school in Phoenix area. I am available for tutoring weekday evenings and Saturdays until Summer at which point I am available any time. I am familiar with Common Core standards, and the expectations of AIMS testing, as well as the upcoming PARC testing.

I utilize a variety of strategies, including technology and hands on project based learning. I am currently working on my Library/Media K-12 Endorsement/Masters, and I look forward to working with students; learning and having fun at the same time.

Social Studies

I taught Social Studies for three years, have a degree in History, and I am a Social Studies certified teacher in two states. I am highly qualified in Arizona and Oregon to teach Social Studies. I taught Social Studies full time for three years at Sunnyside Unified School District in Tucson, Arizona.
