Hi! I have practiced as an emergency veterinarian for years, but recently made a career change and now am a college professor in biology as well as anatomy/physiology and medical terminology. My unique background as a veterinarian allows me a broad knowledge base in both biology as well as medical related topics. Sciences can be very daunting to students, for a number of reasons, but often because these subjects seem to have a language of their own. My approach to tutoring science is to break down these concepts into a simpler language and relate the topics to every day life. This makes these subjects much easier to grasp as well as remember. Success in science courses also requires the ability to memorize, often large volumes of material at one time. I have learned a number of memorization techniques that I pass along to my students. Finally, as a professor of these topics, I have access to additional teaching resources, including textbooks, work books and I have even been known to give additional homework to reinforce topics. (Parents, don't tell your kids that part. :>)
If you are interested in me tutoring other medical related topics other than those listed by WyzAnt please let me know and I will see if I can accommodate you.
