My name is Stephani, and I would LOVE to help your child reach their potential through one-on-one tutoring!
I am currently in my 6th year of teaching and I am so happy to see the progress of each student I reach throughout the school year. I have four years of experience teaching 1st grade, and this is my second year teaching 2nd grade. Throughout my years in teaching 1st and 2nd grade I have learned that each child is unique, learns differently, and learns at a different pace. I believe it is important to take the time to nurture how each child learns best to increase their learning potential and to reach the "AHA" moment when a child finally fully understands a concept.
Besides teaching, I also tutor students in the 21st Century program at our school teaching reading and math for K-2nd grade students. I enjoy mixing up the learning routines with reading and math learning games, math problem solving, phonics stories, technology resources online, modeling, and lots of practice.
In reading I focus on comprehension, accuracy, fluency, and vocabulary. In math I focus on specific skills that each student is struggling with as a starting point to find where a student may be lacking in basic math skills.
