Hello! I am an adjunct fashion illustration and design professor at Mesa Community College, which is a college within the Maricopa Community College system. I am also the president of the Costume Institute at the Phoenix Art Museum. I teach figure drawing and fashion illustration privately to students of all levels, ages and abilities.
Many of my private students are in their "tween age" years, but I also teach adults. I received my art education at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, which is the sister program to Parsons School of Design in NYC--made famous on Project Runway. I also hold a Bachelor's of Science in rhetorical studies and communications with a concentration in art history from Syracuse University, a private four-year college in Upstate New York. I teach drawing according to the Parson's method with an emphasis on classical European drawing, rendering realistic textures, anatomy, proportion and perspective.
I am a patient instructor and if I am teaching a younger child will go at a slower pace, appropriate to their level and experience. If you are considering supplementing your child's general ed art classes and fostering their interest in drawing, please consider contacting me.
