Franklin S. is a highly respected educator offering extensive experience and expertise in primary/secondary education with both charter and private schools. A consummate professional, his background includes roles as a Christian Education Director/Associate Pastor, Headmaster, Language Arts Department Head, and Director of Special Education. His experience in special education working with struggling learners enabled him to develop a keen understanding of both the physical and social challenges these students face. Mr. S.'s knowledge of Response to Intervention (RTI) techniques, coupled with his strong commitment to using research based lesson plans in small group settings, has resulted in significant gains in reading and comprehension for the students he has worked with.

Throughout his career Mr. S has been recognized for his integrity, dedication and unwavering passion for enriching the lives of others through education. His life has been dedicated to providing the best possible opportunity to youth for them to prosper in their lives both during their high school years and their post high school years. An exceptional and compassionate leader, he is known for his unique ability to connect with his students, and with faculty, and is a true team player with positive and useful things to say.

While headmaster of AHCA, Mr. S. founded and directed the first organized Home School/School in California, which served as a model for subsequent private and public home school/schools. In 1974 he founded, served as Headmaster, and served as president for 16 years at American Heritage Christian Academy. Seeing the need, Mr. S. Incorporated Recognition High School, a private AZ non-profit correspondence high school to recognize and reward with a diploma those students who have already completed, or nearly completed all high school credits but have been unable to pass state mandated tests required of public and charter schools, but not of private schools. Mr. S. was also recognized by and listed in Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities. In the last two schools in which he taught, he was honored as Teacher of the Year.

Recognition for service, collaboration and outstanding performance characterizes Mr. S.’s employment history. For example, while employed by Ecademie High School in Phoenix, Mr. S. was “chosen by the English teachers to chair the department. Under his leadership, the department developed a rigorous curriculum aligned to state standards that resulted in enormous annual increases in AIMS test scores in both reading and writing.”

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Public Speaking

I am a public speaker and have taught public speaking at both the high school and college level. As there is a significant difference between wanting to overcome the fear of speaking in public, speaking to small groups, or being on the speaker circuit, my question for you would be, "What do you want to accomplish?" If you are break into the professional speakers' circuit, I'm not your best choice. If you want to be an effective small group, as needed, speaker. I may well be your best choice. My expertise has been in taking students/individuals from no experience to confidence in any situation.
