Hello students and parents,
My name is Alice and I am a recent graduate from ASU (BA in Lit., Writing and Film) plus I graduated from the prestigious Barrett Honors College at ASU. I graduated with top honors and was also an honors student at the community college. As a student at ASU, I was also a writing, math, nutrition and geology tutor for ASU. In addition to my daily tutoring sessions, I also led tutoring, study and note taking workshops and was also a Trio tutor (a specialized one-on-one tutor).
For my Barrett Honors project, I started a Barrett Writing Center on ASU's Poly campus. I heavily researched, interviewed and surveyed writing tutoring theories and developed a unique writing center for honors students. I presented my findings to Barrett and the center continues to serve students. Needless to say, I am passionate about writing tutoring. I am passionate about all tutoring as I feel I have a unique skill in helping students understand what their academic challenge is and how to conquer that challenge.
I also worked in an elementary school as a Kindergarten assistant. Here I sharpened my elementary tutoring skills while working one-on-one with five and six year olds.
Presently, I worked briefly for a small marketing firm as their primary writer, but when the firm downsized because of the tough economy, my position was eliminated. What this means is that I am totally available to help you reach your academic or professional goals. I also have years of experience working with ESL students in the their writing, reading and comprehension of the English language.
My experience shows that I work well with others and that you can depend on me to help you pass your exam, learn how to become a stronger writer and to gain more subject area knowledge.
