Hello, my name is Celia, and I enjoy teaching. I would love the opportunity to share that joy with you. I tutor preschool thru 3rd grade . I home schooled my daughter for 3 years, so I have a lot of patience. I like to make
learning, a fun, and enjoyable experience for my students. It's so rewarding to see a child blossom into a
more confident student.
I teach phonics, reading, and spelling from preschool thru 3rd grade. I believe the earlier you get started teaching your child, the better. Each child is different. The way they learn, and how fast, is different. After I meet with the child, I'll come up with a plan specifically for them. I've held after school tutoring classes, with as many as 6 children (I like to keep the classes small, no more than 6 at a time.) I started working with my daughter when she was 6 mo. old, using flash cards. She was reading at the age of 3 1/2. I was giving her spelling tests at age 4. I believe I can help your child as well.

When teaching a child to read, I always start with phonics.I can't stress enough how important it is to start there. It gives the child the ability to figure out unfamiliar words on his own. Be it remembering what the child reads, identifying the main idea,or whatever else the problem may be, I'll come up with a plan specifically designed for that child's needs.

Phonics

Phonics is the foundation of learning to read. I have taught many children what each letter of the alphabet sounds like, as well as blended sounds.You can't go wrong when you start there.Children can figure out words for themselves, and they feel good about it. They become better readers as a result.

If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
