As a fellow teacher, I was looking for someone who could help my son identify his weaknesses, particularly if they were "the fundamentals". Mariana knew how to determine what he needed to learn and then did an excellent job of tailoring the class to his needs. My son's reactions to the tutoring was very positive - Mariana is young enough to be full of energy, but mature enough to be wise. Great experience.

Mariana was a fantastic tutor for my 4th grade student who was struggling with word problems and some basic math skills. Mariana was endlessly patient and made sure that my daughter really understood a concept before moving on to something else. I highly recommend her as a math tutor - you can't go wrong!

Mariana covered a lot in an hour, and was able to quickly discern areas my son could improve upon with practice. She was encouraging to him, and felt he could do very well on his upcoming ACT test. She is well worth the $40/hr.! I highly recommend her.
My son's ACT Math score came up 3 points with just 4 hours of tutoring with Mariana!

My 13 years old daughter needed help preparing for a test and Mariana jumped right on board to help her. I really felt like she cared about my daughter doing well in math. Mariana is a very patient, compassionate person. My daughter was really struggling in Algebra and with Mariana's help, she has brought her grade up a lot and, more importantly, starting to understand the concepts of what she is being taught.
My daughter was really frustrated when she began, but after being with Mariana, she now realizes that she CAN do what is asked of her.

While Mariana's usual students are Middle School to High School aged, she was just wonderful with my daughter who will be entering the 4th grade. This age requires a lot of patience because, for us parents, its hard to understand why they can't just look at "4x3" and see "12"....especially after getting it right 6 times before:) Mariana gave my daughter (who is very anxious about math) a supportive and encouraging environment to tackle her fear of times tables. Mariana is very good with my 8th grade daughter. She is very patient and takes the time to teach her in a way she can understand. My daughter looks forward to her math lesson with Mariana each week and it's the first time I've really seen her excited about doing math. We have tried other tutors that didn't work out, but Mariana is incredible. I would highly recommend her to anyone with a student struggling in math.

Mariana has been such a help to my son. I never type reviews on-line. But, this time I had to make the exception. We recently relocated to North West Arkansas and my son was instantly behind in math. The last thing I wanted was to have a teenager with self esteem issues simply because he was behind. She got him up and running and made a difference. She balances the "being strict" with being the "cool and connecting tutor". I highly sing her praises. She is flexible with time too. So, that makes it even easier.
