I am a 41 year old mother of three sons. I received my bachelor's degree in education in 2001 from Athens state university. I hold a double major of English and history. Grammar, reading and literature are my favorite things to do but feel competent in all areas with the exception of math. It scares me! :) I am also a Licensed Practical Nurse. I graduated from NWSCC in 2010 and currently work full time at Lakeland Community Hospital in Haleyville, AL. I guess you could say that I'm a life-long learner. The years that I did teach, i was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to teach the 7th and 10th grade Writing Assessments for the state of Alabama and also the 10th grade graduation exam. The Alabama teaching curriculum, at one time, was geared toward "teaching the test." So I'm well prepared to follow curriculum as well as impromptu fundamentals. I believe that in order to learn, it needs to be an enjoyable experience. I've always loved to see the "light bulb" come on over a child's head. Give me a try and let's see what we can accomplish together.
