I believe in practical, "hands on" education. Language acquisition depends on a multifaceted approach. While textbooks and written assignments do have a place in my tutoring sessions, I spend considerable time in visual and conversational exercises. I believe learning can and should be enjoyable. My lessons are tailored according to the ability and needs of each individual student. The creative approach I have to teaching and tutoring has been affirmed over the years through parents and students, as well as administrative officials.
My experience includes teaching elementary through high school level Spanish classes and ESL classes for persons from various nationalities. I have tutored all ages from 2 through adult both privately and through public and private schools. My husband, David, and I have raised six children - homeschooling each of them through high school and mentoring them through college.
My life experience also includes traveling and studying abroad in Central and South America, Europe and Asia. I have lived for a time in the countries of Colombia, Costa Rica, and Chile. I am a Christian and am passionate about pursuing a life that reflects God's grace in all that I do.
