Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Adobe InDesign

I have extensive knowledge of using Adobe InDesign. I have created newsletters bi-monthly for a group using InDesign. Also, I've created monthly ads for two local newspapers on behalf of this group using InDesign. I've trained others in using the software as well, including staff and interns.

ASVAB

I have successfully taken the ASVAB in the past and am currently tutoring students preparing to take the ASVAB test.

Career Development

Over the past seven years, I have managed employees, interns, and management trainees while in state government and private industry. I have counseled interns and management trainees on resume building and I have assisted them with interviewing techniques, often taking them through mock interviews with me individually or colleagues to assist them with one-on-one and panel interviews. I've developed business writing courses for the PA Department of Revenue and I have served as an adjunct instructor for the PA Governor's Office of Administration, which administers training to employees of state agencies under the governor's jurisdiction. These training sessions covered various topics, including management training, sexual harassment prevention, developing proofreading and number skills, project management, and contract compliance.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have tutored elementary school students (non-relatives) in English and Math for the past 12 years. I have tutored students in a classroom-based afterschool program, as well as provided individual tutoring to K-6th grade students. Additionally, I have four children who have successfully completed 6th grade and one child in the 5th grade.

Public Speaking

I have over 15 years of public speaking experience. I have presented at federal and state conferences, facilitated hundreds of workshops, and been the keynote speaker for various events, including events at Bethel AME Church in Harrisburg, PA, and for the Black History Program for the PA Departments of Treasury and Auditor General in 2012. I have also written and edited speeches for others, including commencement speeches. I am also experienced in developing talking points for leaders to use in their presentations at various types of events.

QuickBooks

I am proficient in the use of Quickbooks. I was an online technical support representative for a major U.S. bank, where I provided support to personal and business customers in the use of Quickbooks, MS Money, and Quicken to manage their finances. I can assist customers in manually entering transactions, paying bills, and downloading their transactions from their financial institutions.

"Very patient and intelligent!" — I was impressed with Eboni's way of tutoring my son Khashan. She was willing to work diligently with him on science and math. This is the first time I have ever had a tutor and I was very pleased with the way Eboni applied her tutoring skills. I plan on continuing to have her work with my son. Also, Eboni is great with students and I would highly recommend her to anyone! ...
