Ghandi once said, “You must be the change you want to see in the world.”
I believe in these words. I am a highly qualified teacher devoted to helping students. My purpose in this lifetime is to make a positive difference in the world. I am patient, caring and a good listener.
I have taught in Alaska for 10 years. Five years I taught American Native and Alaska Native students with Cook Inlet Tribal Council. While there I taught Reading, Writing and basic Language Arts to 6th grade and high school students. One year I was a Reading Specialist for elementary students. During the summer I devoted my time teaching and being a camp counselor. I taught in Dillingham, Alaska for one year. While there I taught: Spanish(beginning and intermediate), 6th grade Reading-Writing-Basic Language Arts, Cooking (beginning and intermediate)social skills, and keyboarding. I have substituted for the Matanuska-Susitna School District off and on for three years. I have held two long-term substitute positions, both teaching Language Arts (once in middle school and once in high school).
Currently, I am enrolled in a Masters Degree Program in Special Education at the University of Alaska Southeast. I consider myself a life-long learner.
I strive to support the changes I want to see in the world.
