Academic nursing programs can be overwhelming not only in subject matter, but in the amount of material that is required of the degree. I am a board-certified cardiovascular nurse, with a Bachelor of Nursing degree, and a Bachelor of Communications degree, and I have been practicing for more than 12 years.
The basic core classes consist of materials that require rote memory. To begin applying that information using critical thinking skills, is a learned process. The better a nurse is at utilizing these critical thinking skills, the more valuable the nurse will be to both patients and physicians. This is the way a physician is trained to think and I can help you to begin thinking in that same way too.
Nursing skills are easy to teach, and easy to learn, but it it the critical thinking process that raises a nurse above others and allows for the nurse to truly be an advocate of the patient.
