Portland, the City of Roses, has six school districts. If students want to pursue private education they have a variety of options, including the Portland Waldorf School, which has sister schools all over the nation, several Catholic schools, and the Catlin Gabel School, whose students have the highest average SAT scores in the state of Oregon. Portland is also home to the state's largest public research university, Portland State University, and three Portland Community College campuses. The Oregon Health Sciences University is internationally renowned for nursing, dentistry, and medical programs. For private higher education, Portland's nine colleges and universities are Cascade College, Concordia University, Lewis & Clark College, Linfield College, Multnomah Bible College and Biblical Seminary, Pacific Northwest College of Art, University of Portland, Reed College, and Warner Pacific College. The city's only law school is the Lewis & Clark Law School. - Written by Michael S.
