Getting Ready for Finals

Last night we worked on simplifying rational equations. There were some items we needed to review in the book to get comfortable with the equations and how to break them down and get them to work out. However again my student did very well and we had some good discovery of the rules. I think the student is going to do well on the remaining tests and the Final next week. We may or may not need to get another session because I feel she is prepared.

Thanks again for the opportunity!

Radical Equations and Life

Another good session. There were some questions about simplifying radicals and also simplifying radical equations. We looked through the chapter on the subject in her textbook to locate the rules and theorems and listed them out. This made the process of solving the equations much more organized. A question about 'remainder' powers of a variable were discussed and my student looked relieved to have a better understanding. It was great.

With two weeks left the rest of the time should be review for the finals coming in two weeks.

Second Session in Algebra II

Yesterday we met again to work on Algebra II. We made great progress in evaluating the equations. Using the rules of logarithms, we were able to take the equations solving for X and either take them as they were and use the rules. Or we expanded them and then collapsed them to get the solutions. My student worked hard and it was a great sight to see comprehension in something that previously seemed to elude him. We even tackled a problem "for the fun of it" to make sure the lessons were holding.

I look forward to helping again, but right now the student seems prepared to move on. Still, it was a great opportunity.

Had great first session on Algebra II

Hello. I had a first session with a very puzzled young person concerning Algebra II. Through using some dummy books on Algebra II together we figured out how to resolve the questions about logarithms. I enjoyed the session and the young person I was helping seemed to get some grasp of the material previously not there. I look forward to helping others with this type of result.

Greetings and Salutations

I am excited about working with people and helping with learning. Mathematics is my best subject and I am willing and able to help.

I have been out of school for some time, but I use the concepts of algebra on a daily basis to perform my job so I know I would be able to help with this subject.

Please keep me in mind if you need help!
